It has been a while since I've written a blog.
For any of you who have been with me for a decade, you will know that my writing comes and goes. It especially GOES when I am under stress although that is when it needs to happen! Ha!
They say stress is all how you manage it. I still don't know who THEY are but I suspect they are either wearing lab coats or they are rich enough to make stress go away easily.
I have watched videos and read many topics about dealing with stress. I have to say, I am really tired of the one-size-fits all approach.
In my world, I have always tried to take the perspective approach. That is where you look at people around you who have it worse than you do and you enter a guilt mode where you feel ashamed.
That is actually really terrible and incredibly wrong.
Each person has UNIQUE stress. I see similar combinations of it from household to household but there are a few things these "studies" don't seem to take into account:

Each person has UNIQUE stress. I see similar combinations of it from household to household but there are a few things these "studies" don't seem to take into account:
1. The person's history
2. The person's mental or physical state
3. The type of person they are
When you take a situation like say, stress about money, you may not think about how that person grew up and the emotional pressure they may have had from a parent to succeed.
On top of that, you may not think about whether that person is mentally or physically able to handle stress.
While we can find people that we can sort of relate to, it is next to impossible to find a mirrored situation that has the same history and same level of mental or physical capacity.
When you are dealing with a Mathematician VS an Artist, you may find that you have to deal in black and white with one, but dynamic color with the other.
Heck, that Mathematician may even be a discouraged artist.
See how complicated it can get?
Some people have the cast iron stomach of a crow while others throw up water. Not everyone processes information the same way.
While it's lovely to give someone a quick solution or some tools to help deal with it, there is no substitute for compassion, kindness, gentleness and good old-fashioned love.
The most important part is to have a genuine sensitivity towards a person who is having problems coping mentally or physically.
Of course, taking a simple interest in them can go a long way.
I do hope whatever you are going through, that you are surrounded by that kind of genuine spirit!
ROCK ON!
